Resilient Federalism: Democratic Innovations for Crisis Management

The Project

REFECT: (Project - Resilient Federalism in Crisis Times)

The issue of federalism and emergency response has been largely ignored in federalism studies in India. This workshop is an attempt to fill this gap by linking India's federalism to a comparative exploration of the role of intergovernmental relations (IGR) in emergency or crisis management. The participants – academics, policy makers and practitioners – can enhance their understanding of India’s response to crisis situations by surveying the experiences of other federal or multilevel systems. As such, India can significantly benefit from knowledge-sharing, particularly on good practices and innovations relating to crisis management in different countries and contexts.
